The Republic of Singapore, mostly referred to as Singapore, is an island city-state located in Southeast Asia, at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. Due to its location, only one degree north of the equator, Singapore experiences high temperatures throughout the year with average being around 80 degrees Fahrenheit (26.66 Celsius).

Of the original “Four Asian Tigers”, which consists of Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore, it has the highest GPA per capita. In fact, from 1965 to 1995, the growth rate averaged 6 cents per annum, completely transforming the living standards of the people in the area.

My Singapore – A personal perspective from Aron Blume
Over the course of many visits to Singapore I have been introduced to the very diverse cuisine of this vibrant city/state. From Malay to Chinese to Indian kitchens. From gastronomic wizardry at high-end restaurants to amazing street food, posh club fare to food courts, there is always something for every palate and every schedule. My personal favorite: Chicken-rice (officially “Hainanese chicken rice) a steaming dish of poached chicken and delicately-seasoned rice, served with an array of garnishes – chili sauce, pickles and others.
